Transport & Procurement Specialist

The CRS Group are currently recruiting for a Transport & Procurement Specialist to join our ever-growing talented and leading teams. 

Transport Requirement:

  • Daily monitoring of shipments by coordinating with the stakeholders involved to meet all deadlines
  • First point of contact internally & externally for any queries in relation to transport
  • Proactively working with the Operations team to book and coordinate all deliveries with the external haulage providers and the customers
  • Compilation of transport costs on a monthly basis reviewing and reporting on anomalies and ability to fully analyse costs on larger jobs
  • Correspond with customers in person and/or through calls/emails etc as required
  • Ensure that required paperwork is available to delivery drivers prior to assets leaving the depot
  • Input into the annual review of haulage providers and any other transport-related suppliers
  • Planning transport & logistics of any large delivery & install to ensure that the costs are agreed in advance, monitored during the job & report summary completed at job completion
  • Ensure transport costs are associated with the correct jobs on the system
  • Booking and tracking of returns that must fall within the permitted conditions and time limit

Procurement Requirements:

  • Purchasing goods relevant to the business, ensuring maximum availability of key products at all times
  • Processing Purchase Orders and managing Goods Inwards Schedule
  • Define & document the end to end Procurement process in line with ISO requirements
  • Working with Group Operations Manager in relation to product pricing, availability and forecasting
  • Update processes for reporting on general procurement and provide regular reports on progress
  • Create cost-savings by identifying and driving relevant procurements activities
  • Resolution of invoice variances
  • Attend daily production meetings and liaise with relevant department leads to ensure stock is available or stock shortages are resolved quickly
  • Ensure that there is a dual-source supply for all key stock items
  • Work with Engineering team on procurement of items that require specific technical requirements
  • Managing Import & Export customs related transactions as required
  • Notifying supplier of discrepancies in order to resolve in a timely manner
  • Liaise with and expedite shipping lines & suppliers to manage the end to end delivery of incoming large stock items from purchase, customs clearance through to delivery to the relevant site

Knowledge, Education and Experience Required:

  • 3+ years working in a similar Transport & Procurement role
  • Strong IT knowledge and background
  • Previous experience of scheduling inbound and outbound freight essential
  • Previous experience in a procurement role required
  • Proven record of dealing with internal stakeholders, transport companies, customers & suppliers
  • Understanding custom clearance requirements is an advantage
  • Good financial analysis skills and budget management understanding
