Temperature Controlled solution for Sigma Aldrich

The CRS group recently worked alongside Sigma-Aldrich, a world leader in life science, to provide them with a bespoke temperature controlled storage solution.

Sigma-Aldrich collaborates with numerous companies and institutions within the global science community to help improve healthcare for every person, wherever they are. Offering a portfolio of over 200,000 products and more than 500 services, the group are an important part of the wider life science community.

The company needed a storage solution to house forty pallets of temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products. These were required to be stored at an elevated temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. Being a highly sensitive product, any fluctuations or drops in temperature would result in the products turning into a solid wax state. It was important to avoid this, as the products would them become unusable, leading to huge loses in revenue for Sigma-Aldrich.

Eugene Mulholland, the Engineering and Process Technology Manager for Sigma-Aldrich, found the CRS group online after much research into companies specialising in temperature controlled storage. After a detailed meeting with the CRS team, work began on a bespoke temperature controlled unit for the company’s pharmaceutical goods.

Speaking of his first impressions and experience with CRS, Eugene said:

“The professionalism and level of knowledge displayed even at the enquiry stage of the process gave us confidence in our selection of company”.

When asked if any problems cropped up during the consultation and build he continued to say:

“No, not at all. Due to the planning done prior to install and the meetings with the CRS team, everything went to plan and no issues arose”.

The solution needed to be delivered and housed on-site at Sigma-Aldrich’s grounds. This was no problem for the CRS team, as on-site delivery comes as standard with any pharmaceutical storage that is rented or purchased.

Commenting on the overall experience of working with the CRS group, this is what Eugene had to say:

“I found the CRS Group to be very professional. They had an excellent validation pack which is imperative to have in the pharmaceutical industry. They delivered what they said they would, and more importantly when they said they would. I have had experience whereby we have been let down with regards due dates. The CRS Group clearly outlined the lead-time on our build and delivered within those set parameters. This was a big plus for me.”

“We here at Sigma Aldrich are delighted with the solution that The CRS Group have provided us with and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to any companies in the pharmaceutical industry”.

The CRS group were happy to provide Eugene and everyone working at Sigma-Aldrich with a custom-built, temperature controlled pharmaceutical unit and hope to work with them again in the future.
